Workplace mental health, done proactively
Instead of paying for a service that no one uses, reach in.
Our current wellbeing and support system is broken. It waits for people to reach out when they are most struggling. Emotional Pulse is developing a new approach called Proactive EAP that ensures everyone feels supported, cared for and safe.
- Everyone gets a real check-in, not just the 5% who ask
- 77,000+ check-ins
- 118 countries
- Confidential to the individual
A reactive EAP waits for the few who put their hand up. We reach everyone.

The approach
Waiting for people to reach out doesn't work. The design is broken, not the people.
Almost every workplace mental health system is built the same way: support exists, and it waits. It asks the person who is struggling to notice, to decide, to find the number and to make the call. Most never do. Only about 5% ever use a traditional EAP, and the other 95% are left unchecked and unsupported until there's a claim or they break down.
- 1
You're already paying for support almost no one uses. About 5% of your people use your EAP. And it can't tell you what's broken or what to fix.
- 2
It's not the provider, it's the design: it relies on someone, at their lowest moment, remembering the service exists and reaching out to a stranger.
- 3
So reach in. Every person gets a check-in, what they share is de-identified, and you get a real read of what’s broken and what to fix.
The Proactive EAP ecosystem
One system, built up in stages.
Stage 0
Reactive EAP
Crisis support when issues arise.
Support waits to be asked. Around 5% of people ever use it, and problems are met after they escalate.
Stage 1
Proactive check-ins
Scheduled outreach to everyone.
Every person gets a check-in on a schedule. The conversation starts early, support is arranged where it is needed, and you get a de-identified report of what to fix.
Proactive check-insStage 2
Mental Health Training
Skilled support, before the crisis.
The people who never call an EAP go to someone they trust. Training equips your leaders and trusted people for the support conversations they are already having.

Managing Psychosocial Risk
The 2026 Code of Practice asks for evidence that controls are running, not a policy on a shelf. A check-in with every person is a control that reaches everyone, and the de-identified report is the record.

A serious psychological claim now costs a median of $67,400 and 35.7 weeks away from work (Safe Work Australia, 2023–24). Most begin as something nobody noticed in time.

Burnout, bullying and withdrawal show up in performance long before they show up in a survey. Regular check-ins find them while they can still be fixed.

Leaders want to help and don't know what to say. Mental Health First Aid teaches them to understand. Mental Health First Responder training teaches them to act.
